Plan not to fail
“Nobody ever wrote down a plan to be broke, fat, lazy, or stupid. Those things are what happen when you don’t have a plan.” – Larry Winget
The best way to stay on track over the weekend is to plan ahead. It’s okay to relax a bit and enjoy yourself, but do it in a controlled fashion.
Pre-plan a cheat meal and stick to that plan. Don’t let one meal turn into a weekend (or even worse a full week) of unrestrained eating.
It can turn into a vicious circle, especially for emotionally eaters. You know how it goes. You do well all week, then you eat one bad meal on the weekend and the “oh man I’ve blown it now I might as well REALLY blow it”. This leads to guilt, depression and before you know it you’re eating more to console yourself.
The flip side is this. You eat well all week and as a reward you plan a cheat meal. You eat that meal and thoroughly enjoy it knowing it was planned and that you deserve it. No guilt, no emotional roller coaster. The next day/meal you continue with the plan. You are still in control.
Planning and preparation will ensure you reach your goals much faster.
